What does it mean to be a creative being? It means showing up in each moment of your life with presence, mindfulness, and a deep connection to the divine creative. We all have the divine creator within us, and it is our work to get still and honor the quiet in order to hear it. We spent the day with creator Karly Ryan as she shared a day in the life with Bahgsu Jewels.

Morning Rituals

Stating the day with a mindfulness practice is key to creating the rhythm for a productive and light filled day. Lighting Palo Santo each morning, I meditate to still the mind, acknowledge and remove any blockages from the night's sleep, and say three things I am grateful for. For a mindset of gratitude and abundance is the surest way to attract even more abundance into your life.
A beautiful chai or matcha latte is my favorite way to start the day. Caffeine, especially the high doses in coffee, actually blocks the third eye and crown chakras, stopping the flow of creative energy, so I try and opt for natural teas with lower caffeine levels.
To bring the ceremony to a close, I pull a tarot card to bring in extra guidance for the day.

Afternoon Pause

In our busy world, it is often hard to take a break from our endless to-do lists. But studies have shown that production, creativity, and performance on all levels are enhanced when a midday break is utilized. It is all about being in tune with your body and knowing when it wants to play, rest, create, or rationalize. Taking a break in thinking and analyzing, we can listen to what is happening within, and become in tune with our innate inner wisdom. There is no fixing or solving in the resting mind, but rather a quietness that allows us to open our heart, and this is will ultimately lead you to what you are destined to become.

Sunset Bliss

Is there anything more awe inspiring than a sunset? No matter if you are on the coast or by a mountain range, ending the day by the horizon line is the best way. In ancient practices, the phrase "horizon" was used instead of a formal name for God, source, or spirit, for no matter where in the world you are, there is a horizon that is never ending and ever-present. It is the sentiment that makes you feel both tiny and infinite at the same time. Just as I start the day with gratitude, I end it with gratitude. And giving my offering up to the last rays of light, as we take our rest in the cool velvet Milky Way.
