The root chakra is responsible for your sense of security and safety on your earthly journey. Muladhara is Sanskrit and translates to mula = root, and adhara = to support. Balancing the first of the chakras provides a solid foundation for opening the chakras above for aligned, wholesome, healthy, vibrant & connected life.
Muladhara is comprised of whatever grounds you to stability in your life. This includes your basic needs like food, water, shelter, and safety as well as emotional needs such as letting go of fear. With root chakra imbalance, you might experience anxiety, fears, nightmares, eating disorder, or more physical problems with the colon, bladder, lower back, leg or feet. With the root chakra in balance, you tend to worry less day to day and have natural faith in being taken care of by higher powers, and you have a strong sense of connection with the nature and the universe.
