Our hand-selected Otteson Turquoise pieces have all been named after significant events which happened in the family around their discovery.

This ring hosts a stone mined in the Gilbert Mining District, Nevada. The present Black Hills claim was originally discovered by a Tonopah Native American, this mine produces beautiful specimens of green and blue turquoise to this day. The newest pit on the claim is already boasting a turquoise with a very rare black web matrix.
Since 1902, the Otteson family based in Western Nevada has hand mined vibrant turquoise veins.

The family produces high-quality cabochons directly from the earth & takes pride in completing all steps from gently excavating to their polished finish.

Turquoise is revered through indigenous traditions to be a stone of great metaphysical power. According to local lore, it is the gateway between Heaven & Earth.
